I find it a compelling irony to use modern tools such as digital manipulation of photographs to return
to the age of myth, monsters, romance, fantasy, and imagination..
I like to include the humour of this irony into my work by not trying to take away from what
it is – a digitally manipulated image, while still making the image acceptable to our discerning imaginations.
Rather than depict blatant nudity, I prefer
to work with imagery that reflects an almost burlesque subtlety, which is a quality all but lost in today’s society
where things of the imagination are endangered species.
